Who We Are
We are a premium lettuce brand based in Hudson, Ohio. We grow a variety of fresh and long-lasting greens to provide delicious, healthy, and sustainable lettuce for our communities.
Our lettuce is free of pesticides and GMOs and stays Fresh ‘n Crisp for up to three weeks when properly stored in the refrigerator.

How We Do This
Using less water
Agriculture uses 70% of the world’s fresh water. Hydroponic growing, like ours, uses 98% less water than conventional growing methods. We cut down our water use by reusing the water and minerals in our greenhouse. Our lettuce does not need to be washed, which also saves water.
Creating healthier communities
More than 90% of Americans have pesticides in their bodies from conventionally grown produce. Our lettuce does not have any pesticides or GMOs. We also do not use any harmful chemicals in our growing process.
Smaller carbon footprint
Being a local farm allows us to reduce our carbon footprint. Since we do not have to transport our lettuce from states thousands of miles away, we use less fossil fuels and have a significantly smaller carbon footprint than other farms.
Regenerative urban farming
Because we grow hydroponically, we are able to reuse many of the same water and minerals in our greenhouse, and we do not use any pesticides or harmful chemicals, and therefore we do not have any water run-off they can pollute rivers, lakes, or other waterways. Through our hydroponic farming, we are able to create more resources than we use. We can grow more with less.
Giving back to our communities
We have donated 10,000 to 15,000 trays of lettuce to people in need through local food banks and continue to donate on an ongoing basis!

What happened to Free Leafy Greens?
We loved our original identity in “Free Leafy Greens,” but found that the name did not embody what people love most about us - hence, Fresh’n Crisp Farms! Plus, we're still hands-free, pesticide free, and GMO free!
